StayLets and the Markey Group takes the privacy of its customers (and their employees) very seriously and is committed to protecting personal information. This Privacy Policy sets out the way in which any personal information you may provide to us is used and kept secure by StayLets. It applies whenever we collect your personal data (including when you use our website or other digital products), so please read it carefully.
What we need
StayLets is what is known as the ‘Controller’ of the personal data you provide to us. We only collect basic personal data about you which does not include any special types of information.
This does however include:
- Name
- Phone
- Company name (where applicable)
- Payment details
- Number of occupants
- Dates of Stay
Why we need it
We collect different information depending on your relationship with us or your contact with us. We need to tell you what we use your information for and the legal grounds for which we must use this information.

- to provide you (or your employees) with accommodation services
- for fraud screening and prevention purposes
- for record keeping purposes e.g. financial records
- to track your activity on our website
- for marketing purposes where we consider that it is in your legitimate interests
When you interact with our website, we may also automatically collect the following information about your visit. This is primarily to help us better understand how our website visitors use our website to enable us to create a better user experience or content and to inform our marketing:
- how you have reached our website and the IP (internet protocol) address used

- your journey through our website, including which links you click on and any searches you made, how long you stayed on a page, and other page interaction information which may enhance user experience
We need to know your basic personal data in order to provide you with accommodation services in line with your booking. We will not collect any personal data from you we do not need in order to provide and oversee this service for you. Except where we send you information on Special Offers etc on a legitimate interest basis.
The web forms on our website and connected booking system software will collect the information upon submission, we then use this information in order to contact yourself as per your request.
What we do with it
All the personal data we process is processed by our staff in the UK however for the purposes of IT hosting and maintenance this information is located on servers within the European Union. No 3rd parties other than marketing companies we use (and only then for analysis purposes) have access to your personal data unless the law allows them to do so.
We have a Data Protection regime in place to oversee the effective and secure processing of your personal data.
Do you transfer data outside the European Economic Area (EEA)?
We do not transfer any data outside of the EEA.
How long we keep it
We are required under UK tax law to keep your basic personal data (name, address, contact details) for a minimum of 2 years after which time it will be destroyed. Your information we use for marketing purposes on a legitimate interest basis will be kept by us until you notify us that you no longer wish to receive this information.
What are your rights?

Please include your name, address and email address when you contact us as this helps us to ensure that we accept amendments only from the correct person and can contact you to verify your identity should this be necessary. We encourage you to promptly update your personal information if it changes and we will action these as quickly as we reasonably can.
